| ALA 2011 Photos Up |
[May. 22nd, 2011|11:27 am] |
My current photo workflow makes it much faster to process a photo shoot than a few years ago. In real time it just takes one evening and a few hours, depending on how many photos there are. I usually take 2 days though with the first day picking out the good ones and then the next day making sure that the chosen ones still look good and finish processing them.
So to my surprise, the Masquerade Director of ALA asked me a couple weeks whether the ALA 2011 photos are ready yet. Seeing that it happened in early Jan, I assumed I have uploaded it already.
Um no, I then remembered that the week after ALA 2011 was the grueling 3 day photo review event (down in LA again) and then things just happened in a blur and I totally forgot about it. Of course, when she asked me, I was preparing for a 3 day photo workshop THAT weekend and didn't have a chance to work on them until now.
Gomen Nasai and here they are. Sorry about that

| The Conventionist app - would like more info |

| | curious | ] | This year I noticed A-LA had an official iPhone/android app, The Conventionist. It worked remarkably well - so well in fact that I would really be interested in using it for an upcoming convention I'm involved with (it's not an anime convention, so don't worry, I'm not competing with you guys ;-) ). How long did it take to get the conventionist guide made up, and most importantly, how much did it cost? |

| ConDroyd, my new ALA 2011 schedule app for Android |
[Jan. 3rd, 2011|08:52 pm] |
ConDroyd is a FREE Anime Los Angeles (ALA) 2011 schedule app for Android phones & tablets that I wrote. It includes the latest published schedule and all the cosplay gatherings posted on cosplay.com. It lets you star your must-attend events, and then you can filter to display just those events. You can also enable reminders for your starred events so you don’t miss them.
For more info, please go to http://www.condroyd.com/
If you’re coming to ALA and have an Android, please download my app, give it a try, and let me know what you think. |

| Anime Girls Burlesque Show.... |
[Dec. 24th, 2010|02:10 pm] |
Just to let people know there is going to be an event hosted by a Burlesque troop known by the name Devil's Playground at the Bordello Bar the Saturday of Anime Los Angeles. Currently we are trying to work out a deal with the bar to let con goers pay a reduced entry fee. The event will be only twenty one plus due to it being a bar setting. The location of the bar is a few blocks south of Little Tokyo.

Here is a link to a map of the bar:
View Larger Map We hope to fill the bar and talk of a second show is in the works. Get people and car pool to this it is worth it. This is the same group that did the highly popular Star Wars theme burlesque show, "The Fempire Strikes Back." They have been covered in publications such as LA Weekly and were given an honor last year of being an LA Weekly best of. Cosplaying to this would also be fun. You may get featured on tv such as G4 etc. Hope to see you there. |

| Looking to share a room to cut down the cost of the weekend |
[Dec. 19th, 2010|11:18 am] |
I'm looking for some cool people (hopefully over 21) to share a room with at Anime LA 2011. Since this Con falls right after the holidays I'm going to be pretty short on cash and would guess I'm not the only one with a skinny wallet. I don't live too far away in CA but since this is my first Anime LA I'm hoping to stay in the hotel Friday and Saturday night. Also I heard about parking costs so I might look into taking the train up to the convention (not sure if that's possible at this time).
All I ask is no drugs or smokers (drinking is fine as long as you're 21 or over of course). I'm not going to be in the room much but to sleep at night. If you've got a space get in touch and let me know how many people are in the room as well as how much it will cost. Get in touch at androidjunkmail@gmail.com. (since I'm posting my email on the interwebz I'm using my junk mail account, don't worry I'll check it!) |
